OK, It’s a Little Weird

Jacob bucked wearing diapers all day when he was 4 weeks old. It has been an awesome jouney.

I want to hear more about the Diaper Free stuff. When I have kids I want to feel knowledgeable and prepared to raise little ones without all that diaper junk. I am so impressed with the fact both of your children bucked diapers as infants.
More to come on this topic soon. Thank you for your interest, it is a very exciting topic–especially in these ‘green’ times.
I was lucky enough to be able to practice Elimination Communication with a newborn when Erin Kenny had Shanikai. We both got clear visual (but mostly telepathic) cues from him and it worked like a charm – we just held him over the toilet when he needed to go. Fun, huh?
The high level of intuition that plays into the success of this practice is outrageous! Sometimes I’ll think, “Oh, Jacob needs to go pee now”. And then I’ll continue to finish opening my bottle of wine, and then he’ll pee. I wish I had on record how many times I said: “OH. I was JUST going to pee him!”
I know, right? It’s astonishing! And since I had the same success with a baby that wasn’t even my kin, it makes me think we could all communicate this way if we paid attention. Awesome.
I can’t wrap my head around this… my daughter refused to be poddy trained (luckily the only really big battle we’ve ever had). She was turning three when we finally succeeded; I think I had to delay putting her in part-time daycare. (She’s been much easier as a teenager….)
